HOW TO GET YOUR FREEDOM BACK

We take for granted our freedom.  Living in Australia, in a democracy, is no doubt a privilege, although we never think about it until something catastrophic happens to take much of it away.  This Covid pandemic has certainly done that!  There is confusion, anger, outrage, and some acceptance, and the philosophical approach of ‘it is what it is’.  BUT most of all we are struggling to live with ‘an authority’ telling us what we can and can’t do, where we can and can’t go, what we must wear (face masks) and telling us to get a vaccination.

OBJECTIVITY

Just for a moment, take a step back and look at this situation from a government point of view.  They are almost damned if they do, and damned if they don’t – intervene, that is.  From their perspective they are looking after the physical ‘health’ of the nation.  They are reliant on many health experts (who knew we had so many epidemiologists?), who are reliant on numbers and statistics.  Like it, or not, agree with it, or not, that’s where they are coming from.

SUBJECTIVELY

No longer am I in charge of my own life.  My most basic of freedoms have been removed, without consent.  I am imprisoned within my own home.  I am bombarded with overwhelming fear based messaging, and the weather is miserable.

If this is how you feel, I have great news!

CONTROL YOUR FREEDOM

You are right.  We don’t have any control, at the moment, over our freedom BUT we do have total control over our imagination.  Nobody can take away or control YOUR imagination.  You can enjoy the freedom of using your imagination to take you wherever you would like to go.  It is the dreaming state, or in hypnosis, we call it ‘trance’.

HOW TO JOURNEY INTO THE IMAGINATION

  1.  Find a quiet spot (should be easy), close your eyes & focus on your breath – in to the count of 5 and out for 8. 
  2. Notice shoulders dropping
  3. Picture your favourite place, or make one up, a beautiful beach, sunrise, sunset, with family, friends – or not – or maybe a past experience of a fabulous holiday.
  4. Imagine the colours, smell the smells, breathe the aromas, hear the sounds, taste the tastes and feel all tension melting away.

DO THIS whenever you feel overwhelmed.  This is your very private FREEDOM which cannot be controlled or removed – not ever.  This is your power to enjoy.
